Ideal candidate profile
AI Builder Residency is designed for high-potential early-career talent who want to move beyond learning AI and start building with it.
Senior students & fresh graduates in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering and related technical disciplines.
Young professionals with less than two years of experience.
Demonstrated proficiency in at least one programming language, with fundamental knowledge of Computer Science or Engineering.
Strong Academic Performance (GPA from 7.5/10 or 3.0/4.0)
Available for a 12-week, full-time onsite program in Ho Chi Minh City, from January to April 2027.
Recommended IELTS 6.0 or equivalent CEFR B2. Candidates will need to submit proof of English proficiency, or an English certificate at the Offer stage.

Everything you need to know before applying to AI Builder Residency.
Is the AI Builder Residency an internship?
The AI Builder Residency is more than an internship. It is an intensive talent development program combining technical learning, real-world project experience, mentorship, community engagement, and interactions with VNG leaders and industry experts. The program is designed to help participants learn, build, grow, work, and connect as future AI engineers.
Can I pursue the Residency while enrolled in school or higher education?
Yes, provided that you can commit full-time to the program. The AI Builder Residency requires approximately 8 hours per weekday, with occasional activities outside regular working hours. Senior students graduating in Summer 2027 are welcome to apply if they can fully participate from January to early April 2027.
What is the stipend for an AI Builder?
Each AI Builder will receive a total stipend for the three-month program. In addition, Builders will have access to VNG Campus, learning and working opportunities, mentorship, and connections with VNG professionals and industry experts.
Do AI Builders choose their own projects?
AI Builders will work on real-world AI projects aligned with the needs of VNG and its business units. Projects will be assigned based on business needs, project requirements, and each Builder’s skills and interests.
What is the mentor’s role in the Residency?
Each AI Builder will work closely with experienced mentors from VNG. Mentors will provide technical guidance, regular feedback, and support throughout the project while encouraging Builders to take ownership of their work.
What will I learn during the AI Builder Residency?
You will strengthen your AI engineering skills through technical training, hands-on projects, mentorship, and learning from VNG experts while working on real-world AI challenges.
What is expected of an AI Builder during the program?
AI Builders are expected to commit full-time to the 12-week program, actively participate in learning and community activities, take ownership of their project work, and collaborate effectively with mentors and fellow Builders.
What happens after I complete the Residency?
At the end of the program, AI Builders will complete a final assessment based on their learning, project work, and overall performance. Strong performers may have the opportunity to join VNG or one of its business units as full-time engineers.
